The Albany Road Railway Bridge played a key role in the development of Earlsdon as a suburb of Coventry. When Albany Road was opened in 1898, it created the first direct road link between Earlsdon and the city centre, enabling the tram route to be extended and accelerating the growth of the neighbourhood.
