Clarendon Street

Home of the Tubular Bell Factory

This photograph shows a very different view of Clarendon Street than the one you see today. On the right is a substantial house that was destroyed by bombing during the Second World War. Beyond it is the Tubular Bell Factory, which was later DBS Furniture and is now a development site.

Clarendon Street was also the birthplace of architect Frederick Gibberd, who grew up at Clarendon House on this street.
