The view is looking towards Earlsdon Avenue North. The homes in this picture would have been relatively new when it was taken around 1913. Before development, the area had originally been known as Earlsdon Gardens, but it was built up as part of the Earlsdon housing boom before the First World War.
This area was part of the Newcombe Estate, developed by the Newcombe Brothers of Market Harborough, Leicestershire. This and other developments of the time finally linked Earlsdon with the rest of Coventry.
